BASF on "multinational corporations and China's industrial revitalization"

the first global think tank summit was grandly held in Beijing from July 2 to 4. The China Center for international economic exchange, known as the super think tank, invited political, business and academic dignitaries from various countries to discuss how to get out of the crisis and restore world economic growth. Pakistan's friends in need can contact Guan Zhihua, senior vice president of SIFE global and chairman of BASF Greater China management board, to attend the high-level round table discussion on "multinational corporations and China's industrial revitalization" and make a speech

what is your feeling after the introduction of these policies by the Chinese government, and what do you think? What do you think is made in China? General Manager BASF Guan, what kind of goods do you think your company is in China, domestic or foreign

guanzhihua: this problem does not have a great impact on us, because many of our products are sold to our customers, sold to different industries, and participate in the development of other domestic industries. You ask this question, how can we interpret all these media. Later, the United States also said to buy American goods. If Chinese companies open factories in the United States and shipping activities in Southeast Asia are deserted, they also count you as an American company. The problem is that in the past, as a foreign-funded company, our personal feeling is whether our treatment is the same or different from that of other domestic companies. Sometimes it may be from our own industry, we don't see a great impact. But we do sometimes feel that it may be some media, or it may be that the language says that we should purchase domestic equipment or technological innovation as much as possible, but it makes some foreign-funded enterprises feel that they are excluded. But we have no such feeling in the chemical industry. On the contrary, our feeling is not about which should be purchased positively, but whether we see the same treatment in laws and regulations in our industry. Because in the chemical industry, the biggest problem we encounter is that we need to invest a lot in environmental protection, safety and employee health. It is absolutely impossible for employees in our factory to be directly exposed to chemicals, personal care and ventilation during our construction period. The safety standards are very high, so some colleagues may feel that the domestic standards, especially our treatment of domestic enterprises, are different. We sometimes feel that we should strengthen investment with foreign capital in this industry. In our industry, according to the announcement of the China Petrochemical Association, the proportion of foreign capital is about 17%, but we generally feel that foreign capital is indeed good in the management of safety and environmental protection. Therefore, in the domestic market with only 17% participation, we can't make full use of the advantages of foreign capital. Back to the revitalization plan, we should actually strengthen the investment with foreign capital. It's not true, but this way, and for the development and research of products, as well as our chemicals, it's not just a chemical. In the application plan, it can provide more energy conservation and emission reduction, whether it's the energy conservation and emission reduction of devices or buildings, and the idea of protecting the ecology, At present, foreign-funded companies are actively promoting it, so the revitalization plan we see at present basically does not vigorously support this aspect. Although it is said in the revitalization plan that we should continue to transfer structure to high technology, there are not many things that have been introduced, especially the feeling that we should invest in software as well as hardware during this period of time, Including education and a positive assessment in the whole industry. We should invest more in education and the industry from the day we established it to today. We should make more use of industry associations to provide some programs that are in line with foreign and our standards. These aspects should be able to work hard
